Critical Reflection

Hi Brad,

It has been a great CPD journey all this while, from being a blank piece of paper at the beginning to seeing it through the CPD showcase… I have learnt many different aspects about communication as a whole, both in terms of verbal and non-verbal communication aspects.

As they always say, “all good things must come to an end”. CPD II has been a positive experience and serves as a good reinforcement from CPD I to ensure that as much as we can excel in our academics, we should not neglect other aspects of life such as learning to work with people, communicate with people and how to manage conflicts with others.

I appreciate that the topics covered in CPD II has been very useful, and personally, I am surprised how some of the theories stick well to me such as the Johari window and Thomas-Kilmann concept. Also, learning the importance of personal branding, and understanding oneself has been helpful in ensuring that I manage personal and work relationships better.

Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being so patient with us, for teaching this module and its contents sincerely and seriously, and for being ever so supportive 🙂

Nevertheless, I will keep in mind the lessons and important values learnt throughout this trimester and apply it in the upcoming IWSP and in future.

I wish you all the best in your endeavours, and will see you around soon!

Kind regards,
Hazel Lim

  1. Dear Hazel,

Thank you for this heartfelt, personalized reflection on the CPDII module. I’m glad you found so much of it to be useful and that overall the tasks and activities proved to be a good learning experience for you.

I hope you can transfer some of the skills and know-how learned or polished in CPDII to your future study and work, and yes, life in general.

Finally, Hazel, I have appreciated your many contributions during the term, from in-class role plays and impromptu speeches to your vital help with the showcase. It was always fun meeting you since you regularly sport such a bright smile and exude positive motivation for learning.

All the best as you continue your learning journey!

    Brad
